For the characters in the anime TV series, see List of Pokémon anime characters. For the creatures known as "Pokémon", see List of Pokémon. Riolu maybe and Zorua maybe but I feel like at that point if they're really that far then they almost certainly either went back to the original starters or, alternatively, went to single games focused on just one special Pokemon, like Togepi or Riolu exclusively. This article is about the human characters in the Pokémon franchise.
have no reason to even be considered for choices of focus in a Let's Go game. Pokemon like Wooper, Poochyena, Skitty, Shinx, etc. They are in fact, the actual starters of Yellow except the original iteration imposed its choice on you. I feel like a lot of Lets Go hypothetical's kinda miss that key point in that Pikachu and Eevee weren't arbitrarily chosen. If they did return to version exclusives they'd probably be something actually tangentially related, like Let's Go Espeon and Let's Go Umbreon (referencing the day/night systems debut in gen 2 as well as theirs) or Let's Go Elekid/Magby (both debuted in gen 2, can re-implement the egg mechanic and supposing they were willing to get just a little creative, they could use Electivire and Magmortar as the grand version exclusives. I'd expect future Let's Go games to just go back to the standard starter formula or alternatively, be extensions on the originals carrying over their progress and simply re-imagining the region with that factored in. (Case in point the Let's Go games.)Īs much as I wouldn't be surprised for Let's Go sequels considering how well they ultimately wound up doing, I don't think they'd resort to making Togepi an exclusive focus. At worst case scenario I will just not buy them and play them if I don't see that they are for me. However since I'm totally okay of not having a new mainline game just every 3-5 years, in theory I don't have anything against they doing a remake/remaster/re-imagining in between years. But we are not living in this ideal world, GF seems to think they can get more money if they do something with the games other then emulating them as they were originally. (Yeah, I know they can be emulated even on a toaster, I've been playing emulated pokemon since 1999, thank you.) So anyone who missed them or haven't played them in ages, or does not have a console that had them originally just can play them anytime legally. I mean I would kinda be okay with an "ideal" world where there are no remakes made but every game is officially available in an online store (so no shortages of cartridges driving the price up) on whatever system is considered as the current one.
